Making of the Top Cop released today by Dr. Kiran Bedi


An illustrative storybook on the most inspiring lady of India Dr. Kiran Bedi’s life was recently launched at IITcampus in Hauz Khas.


The book ‘Making of the top cop’ is released in 12 major Indian Languages namely Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, Tamil, Kannada, Oriya, Bengali, English, Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu and Malayalam.

Book released Making of top cop

The release was preceded by an open panel discussion organized by IIT Delhi Alumni Association, India Vision Foundation and Diamond books on the important subject ‘It starts with us: Early Leadership and role of family and school in its development’.


The first in the series, the book has been written by Kiran’s sister, Dr. Reeta Peshawaria and Anu Peshawaria, edited by Dr. Amrita Bahl.


Book compromises of the story of Kiran Bedi’s early life in Amritsar, her education, tennis and her days in Police Academy.

1200 students took part

The primary objective behind this event was to indentify leadership qualities that children can develop at young age. Over 1200 students from different schools were present in panel discussion. Apart from them parents and teachers also showed their active participation during the discussion.


Event was opened with a brief presentation on how to build leadership qualities by Dr, Amrita Bahl. She gave some helpful tips to groom up our leadership quality at early age such as:

Members of Panel discussion were Dr. Kiran Bedi, Neetu Sharma Director of Navjyoti India Foundation, Rachna Pandit, Principal of Delhi Public School and Ashok Kumar, Additional Director General of Police.


Adding more to the topic Dr. Kiran Bedi said “It is important to become early age givers because this would eventually shape our attitude. In India we all are becoming selfish everything start from ‘I’ until or unless we will not understand importance of ‘We’ it is impossible to become a leader”.


Winding up the discussion she promised to hold such events annually to educate students about various important aspects of their life.
