Ministry of Tourism to set up two new institutes in Noida
The Indian tourism sector is expected to witness exponential growth and in that light, it would require trained manpower to manage the infrastructure and services.
The availability of skilled and trained manpower is a challenge in the country although there are institutes specifically designed for the hospitality industry but the courses offered there are very generic in nature.
In lieu of the same, the Ministry of Tourism has proposed setting up of an Indian Culinary Institute as an independent body which would offer, besides structured regular programs, demand driven specialized courses specific to culinary Arts.
The firstcenter was set up in Andhra Pradesh at Triupati and was inaugurated justa few months back. In order to provide all those facilities right here in NCR, the Ministry of tourism is setting up two new institutes in Noida.
On January 31st, Dr. Mahesh Sharma,Minister of tourism, with some senior tourism Ministry officials addressed the media and made an official announcement for ICI institutes in sector 62.
The total cost for the Noida project is around 60 crore. Adding to this, Dr. Mahesh said “ICI will offer programs in Kitchen management, molecular gastronomy, plate presentation, food styling and displays.
Talking about the institute, they said that it would comprise of a patent and legal cell and a museum of traditional foods.
Well, the Indian Culinary Institute will give a huge break to a lot of talented chefs in our country and would give a great opportunity to the students who want to break away from the traditional careers.
This would help students to become more skilled in a particular field and would help them to fetch out good jobs for themselves.
This a big step taken by the Tourism Ministry and would attract the discerning, who have the passion and want to get formal training to get expertise in a particular field.
