Anirban Bhattacharya took the stage at Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre recently and put forth his classical voice and enthralled the audience. He took the stage for ‘Impressions’, which was a classical concert later fused with Bollywood.
The evening had many shades to it. At the start of the event, the classical music soothed the audience and the latter part of the evening was soaked with contemporary music with the versatile voice of Anirban Bhattacharya. The evening showcased a unique musical journey beginning with age old north Indian classical music, which slowly descended to semi-classical in the world of Thumri, Dadra and Ghazals and culminated with contemporary music.
Anirban Bhattacharya has performed at many prestigious stages across the globe. He had had the privilege of sharing the stage with Shankar Mahadevan at The Royal Albert Hall in London. Mr. Anirban has also lent his voice to the famous Bengali Television serial Sadhak Bamakhayapa. For the past few years, he has been performing with the legendary artist Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj. Anirban’s music focuses on historical music and the history of music in India.
