Andhra Pradesh’s new capital
Andhra Pradesh is sharing its capital city Hyderabad with India’s recently formed 29th state Telangana. Hyderabad can only serve as the capital of Andhra Pradesh till 2024. For 10 years, Andhra Pradesh has been given the right to share the prosperous IT hub of Hyderabad.
Nearly a decade ago, Naidu turned Hyderabad into some sort of Silicon Valley. It became an exceptionally prosperous IT hub. He now says he has ambitious plans to transform Andhra Pradesh into a “bustling” state and model it on Singapore.

There were a lot of guesses made about where the new capital city would be made for Andhra Pradesh which has now been resolved with the announcement of Vijayawada-Guntur region as the new prospective capital of Andhra Pradesh. Exact location has not been disclosed as of now. The large agricultural and fertile region of Vijayawada region will be the new capital of Andhra Pradesh said Chandrababu Naidu chief minister of Andhra Pradesh.
“The Cabinet met on September 1 and resolved to locate the capital city in a central place of the state, around Vijayawada, and go for decentralized development of the state with three mega cities and 14 smart cities” Naidu added.
He further said “We have decided to locate the capital city in a central place of the state around Vijayawada and to go for decentralized development of the state with three mega cities and 14 smart cities.”
Vijayawada is a large fertile land located between the Krishna and Budameru river banks. It is the second largest city in Andhra Pradesh with an area of 61.88 km2.

Land prices have already soared in the stretch between Guntur and Vijayawada towns in anticipation of the announcement.
Vis-a vis, this announcement the opposition party welcomed the decision but also said this matter should be debated in state assembly.
People have mixed reactions for this news, many of them said it to be a political act to gain the votes.
“This is all about politics for seeking votes this decision has been made, the capital should be Kurnool instead of Vijayawada, Kurnool also served as the capital city of Andhra from 1 October 1953 to 31 October 1956” V.Guru a residence of Hyderabad said.
“G.Keerthna a residence of Vishakhapatnam disagrees with the decration of Vijayawada region as capital city she says Vijayawada is fertilized land and it would be destroyed as lands would be cleared to make it a capital city.
A.Pravallika a studend of B.tech from Andhra says that she is happy about the decision made, as Vijayawada has lots of colleges and institutes.
I. Ritika also says it to be a political move she added city of Vijayawada is already well established and developed so developing an undeveloped region would be a better option.
