The period from April to June marks summer in India. Turns out, the axial tilt of the Earth renders Southern Hemisphere countries exposed to the away lean of the sun resulting in winter. The following ten countries in the Southern Hemisphere have their winters during that time:
Australia: Its winter lasts from the month of June to August. With most major cities basking in mild and crisp weather, ideal for touring and visiting, the southern highlands, like the Snowy Mountains and Tasmania, get quite heavy snowfall and are good skiing and snowboarding terrains. Whale watching, among other wildlife viewing, is also popular at this cooler time.
Argentina: It has a winter season from June to August; thus, the southern Patagonia region turns into an awe-inspiring scenery of snow-capped mountains and glaciers. The countries’ towns like Bariloche and Ushuaia become winter sports hot spots. Even Buenos Aires receives a bit of winter charm with reduced number of tourists as well.
New Zealand: June to August, winter months, hold magic especially in the South Island, coming with its famous Southern Alps that are dramatically snow-capped. This is the most active season for skiing or snowboarding. Conditions in the North Island are milder and much rain falls, occasionally falling as snow at high levels.
South Africa: The region where found is essentially mild and dry, besides being stretched over Africa in winter from June into August, due in part to its contribution to a fine wildlife safari opportunity. The absence of lush vegetation as well as the congregation of animals around waterholes creates better viewing opportunity. At this time, the Western Cape would have its rainy season.
Chile: From June to September, the Andes of Chile become a world full of winter wonderlands decorated by some of the best ski resorts of South America located close to Santiago. It also frosts the dramatic landscape of Patagonia, making it very attractive to adventurous travelers.
Bolivia: The Bolivian dry season, which stretches from May to October, is deemed dry across the entire country, though particularly in the highlands. Nighttime temperatures can be quite low, but for most of the bright summer days, the weather is pleasant enough to build a wonderful experience while traversing the rich diversity of the terrain.
Lesotho: This mountainous kingdom enjoys a very definite winter from May to August, with constant sub-zero temperatures and regular falling snow, especially in the higher altitudes, which go well with pretty winter scenes for a few opportunities to practice winter sports.
Madagascar: June is usually the coldest month in Madagascar, which is also within the dry months spanning May to October. Coastal areas remain warm during the days but turn quite cool during the nights. These dry conditions serve well toward observation of wildlife.

Peru: Peuvian winter is actually between May and October, which brings milder, more foggy conditions to the coast while highlands experience dry sunny days and cold nights. This is a popular time for the trekking of the Andes as well as the famous Inca Trail.
Uruguay: An almost winter period from June to August marks sep- tembers that are cool mostly and often not so really very cold. This makes for a quieter season to explore the country’s cities and coastline.
