Virat Kohli teases KL Rahul with ‘This is my ground’ celebration after RCB beats DC in IPL 2025, securing the No. 1 spot in the points table.

Virat Kohli Playfully Teases KL Rahul with ‘This is My Ground’ Celebration After RCB’s Victory Over Delhi Capitals, Boosting Their IPL 2025 Campaign

The 2025 IPL match on April 27 witnessed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) winning by 6 wickets against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. The star of the show was an innings of Virat Kohli, who top-scored with 51 runs in 47 balls to help RCB chase down 163 runs. Krunal Pandya was equally pivotal, scoring 73 runs in 47 balls in a 119-run partnership with Kohli for the fourth wicket. Kohli’s innings included four delightful boundaries, and this performance saw RCB notch up their seventh win this season.

After his match-winning innings, Kohli playfully teased his teammate KL Rahul with the ‘This is my ground’ celebration. A video which has gone viral sees Kohli mimicking Rahul’s viral celebration after their game at the Feroz Shah Kotla ground and joking with Rahul, who had earlier performed the same celebration during a match against RCB at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on April 10. An absolute fun moment on otherwise serious proceedings.

Kohli’s innings of 51 runs on Sunday catapulted him to the top of the race for the Orange Cap, awarded for being the leading run-scorer in IPL 2025. Kohli has amassed a total of 433 runs in 10 matches, including six fifties. He now leads Suryakumar Yadav from the Mumbai Indians by 16 runs, with the latter making 427 runs in 10 outings. This feat further strengthened Kohli’s claim to being one of the superb performers of this edition of IPL.

This victory against the DC also placed RCB atop the IPL 2025 points table with 14 points from 10 matches. From the remaining four matches, should RCB be able to win at least one, they will qualify for the playoffs of IPL 2025, their second consecutive playoff qualification. The Bengaluru-based franchise has continued with Rajat Patidar, who has been able to show his captaincy prowess throughout the current season.

Disappointingly for Delhi Capitals, star player KL Rahul also failed to impress on the day. The 32-year-old wicket-keeper batter was expected to run havoc, yet failed to achieve much thereafter. Rahul played for 41 runs off 39 balls, lacing his innings with three boundaries. While he was the highest scorer for DC, his slow innings added increasing pressure to the franchise, as the other batters could not pose any threat to the opponent and bowled out for cheap. Rahul’s performance in this game was uncharacteristic-clear of any class of his own-so that DC fans and management are definitely hoping for something better in the next few matches.

In conclusion, this RCB victory sealed their place at the top of the points table, while Kohli’s form and leadership have been further consolidated. The humorous exchange with Rahul only added a fun element to an otherwise nail-biting game as RCB continues to torment opponents in IPL 2025.
