During an interview Karan Johar talked about the negative comments received by Khushi Kapoor plus Ibrahim Ali Khan. Through launching new talent the filmmaker revealed his concerns about how youth actors face extreme public observation. In the interview , he also added, “I stand firm with those backborne newcomers. Please Take a note of that.” And with this Karan Johar has finally broken his silence on the most recent undeterred criticisms leveled against star kids Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Johar said criticizing people because of their family was not okay.
“Attacking someone based on their lineage is unfair, so let’s not bring that category in. You must judge talent over background,” he said while continuing to say that he was talking about personal attacks. Johar even went further to highlight the pressure on these new actors as they get in. Empathizing, he said, “Most of new-age star kids are born to a difficult legacy.” Though he is known for launching newcomers, in his style of paddling between the two canoes, the filmmaker insisted that while he was willing to face the brickbats of critics against these new ads, their critique should be based on performances and not personal affiliations.
According to Johar it remains unacceptable to assault someone based on their physical features or personal lifestyle. Continuous public criticism generates harmful impacts on an individual’s mental health together with their self-esteem according to him.
Karan Johar made these remarks following public criticism targeted at Khushi Kapoor and Ibrahim Ali Khan because of their public appearances.
