Justin Bieber’s Heartfelt Confession Sparks Concern Among Fans
Justin Bieber’s emotional Instagram post reveals his struggles, sparking concern among fans about his mental health.
Justin Bieber Opens Up About Feeling ‘Drowning’ in Emotional Post, Sparking Concerns About His Mental Health
Justin Bieber recently took to Instagram to open up one more time about his emotional battles. On Sunday, March 16, 31-year-old Bieber, in an unfiltered message, shared a sentiment of feeling trapped or “drowning” and highlighted the importance of letting go of hatred.
Justin reflected on how, as a child, he was told not to hate, so naturally suppressed negative feelings this way. “It made me feel like I wasn’t allowed to have it, and so I didn’t tell anyone I’ve had it” he confessed. Suppressing such feelings made it very difficult for him to acknowledge his own experiences of hate and even harder for him to feel safe expressing them.
Once again, a heartrending appeal to fans whose moral duty it is to confront and put away ugly things before others can escape. “I think we can only let hate go by first acknowledging it’s there,” he wrote. “How couldn’t we feel hate from all of the hurt we have experienced?”
This isn’t the first time Bieber has laid bare his thoughts toward his fans. On March 13 he wrote an emotional Instagram Story about self-worth and impostor syndrome. Tortured by feelings of unworthiness, he shared that people would tell him he deserved success. “Like I was a fraud. Like when people told me I deserve something, it made me feel sneaky, like, ‘Damn, if only they knew my thoughts'” he has admitted. He further lamented feeling “unequipped and unqualified” most of the time.

Speculation about Bieber’s well-being now had been swirling for weeks. Earlier this month, he shared another cryptic message, seemingly addressing ongoing concerns about his health. On March 8 he wrote, “We have nothing to prove today, just the gift of life today to accept and receive. Nothing is owed to us, and we don’t owe anyone anything,” with Stevie Wonder’s 1976 classic, Sir Duke, as the background.
Bieber’s health had been a topic of concern since February, when fans noticed changes in his appearance and behavior. On February 23, TMZ reported a source close to Bieber and his wife, Hailey Baldwin Bieber, firmly denying any serious health issues. “The narrative about Justin’s health and drug use is false, exhausting, and pitiful,” the source said. “Regardless of the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”

Fans are now holding on to hope that Bieber finds some solace and healing while he continues to share his path with the world. An active show of love has flooded the comment section as his fans encourage him to put his mental well-being first. While the concern for his well-being triggered by such openness is a cause for concern, all it is doing is glowingly showing the importance of admitting to any mental health issues and seeking help if needed.
