The national carrier faced immediate fire from BJP spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill due to Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s reports about subpar Air India service. Through social media Shergill said Air India would be the top winner in all categories if there existed an airline equivalent to the Oscars for being the worst. After Chouhan disclosed his experience of getting assigned a damaged seat on Air India he received criticism from Jaiveer Shergill.
According to Shivraj Singh Chouhan he paid full fare to Air India for an unacceptable seat which both he and the airline regarded as harmful as well as unjust. The aircraft management and substandard quality of service that Air India faces shows evidence of recurring problems according to the complaint filed by the minister.
