Ten devotees lost their lives in a catastrophic road crash that occurred at Maha Kumbh festival in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The holy event attracted them as they were driving their vehicle but met their demise when their car crashed into a bus traveling on the highway. The crash happened during dawn hours of the day and produced major wreckage across the area.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle accelerated too fast before it skidded out of control while striking the bus. The impact destroyed the car to the point where the passengers remained trapped inside their wrecked vehicle. The rescue teams worked hard to salvage the situation but their efforts resulted in 10 casualties among the group of people who had perished along with several injured survivors.
During the Maha Kumbh festival the late devotees traveled from their nearby village to reach Prayagraj to perform their religious duty of dipping in the Ganges River. During its occurrence once every 12 years the Maha Kumbh festival generates massive global attendance of devotees who cause roadways to Prayagraj to become densely populated.

The authorities began an official investigation to identify the reason behind the crash. Copier officials hold the bus driver as they investigate the events before the accident through available CCTV recordings.
Our community is shaken by this incident which has driven the mourning families of those killed into their present condition. The federal government established a compensation fund for mourning families and declared it will provide medical treatment to all patients who suffered injuries. The Maha Kumbh festival maintained its schedule as scheduled however the disaster produced an atmosphere of sadness during the events.
