Keralites Clap Back at Jaspreet Singh’s ‘India’s Got Latent’ Remark with Witty Roasts, Sparking Debate on Comedy and Cultural Stereotypes
Comic Jaspreet Singh found himself at the receiving end of the sharp-Witted will from Keralits to his controversial note to the reality show India has latent. The current comes at a time when legal problems with the key figures of the show are intensified, including the host of Samay Raine, YouTuber-Podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, comedian Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija and YouTuber Ashish Chchanlanani. The Guwahati police filed a company and the Maharashtra Cyber Department launched a Suo Motu. In the middle of the controversy of India, the Latent also attracted political attention, with discussions in parliament and the requirements for removing all 18 episodes of the show.
What led to the Backlash?
The controversy broke out after a viral clip from the show emerged online. During the episode, Samay Raina asked the contestant Pearl William for her political tendencies. How Keralites Are Roasting Jaspreet Singh Back
Social media platforms, especially X (formerly Twitter), were flooded with Malayali’s reactions who use humor to clap back to Singh’s stereotypical remark. One user sarcastically wrote: “He believed he successfully ridiculed Keral. But now look at their condition, ”he mentions the legal problems around the panelists of the show.
Another tweet is: “We influence Saar, we are not normal people Saar. We are an intelligent Saar … it is literally as an unsuccessful student who ridicules a first -class student. The beer boy even goes after the sex of her parents. ”
Malayalis also emphasizes Keral’s intellectual and cultural strengths in their reactions. The widely shared post said: “Kerala: Where 100 % literacy meets 200 % common sense and stereotypes will remain at the door.”
One more user joked: “Kerala saar. 100 per cent literacy saar. Get well soon. Will keep you in my prayers.”This sentence has now become a gathering against what many consider to be occasional and uninformed regional stereotypes masked as humor.
Greater Question: Comedy or Stereotypes?
Water will ruled the debates on the subtle boundary between comedy and cultural insensitivity. While satire and humor are an integral part of entertainment, many claim that resorting to cliché and regional mockery is at best a lazy comedy and in the worst case offensive.

When India has latent faces growing control, it remains to find out whether the show creators will deal with these critics or continue to rely on controversial humor. Meanwhile, Malayalis continues to dominate its humor as a weapon and again proves that intelligence and joke are the best responses to uninformed punches.
