Surprise turn in Delhi Election Results 2025: Manish Sisodia loss stuns AAP
In a significant setback for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), senior figure and ex-deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia accepted defeat from the Jangpura constituency, falling to BJP’s Tarvinder Singh Marvah by more than 600 votes. With trends for all 70 assembly seats announced, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised for a strong resurgence in the national capital, leading in 48 seats, while the AAP is leading in 22, as of 12:30 pm.
Who’s in last place and who’s in first?
Following the announcement of leads for 70 seats, here’s a status update as of 12:30 pm: party leader Arvind Kejriwal is lagging behind BJP’s Parvesh Sahib Singh by more than 1,100 votes, while CM Atishi is falling behind in Kalkaji as Ramesh Bidhuri increases his lead. Tarvinder Singh Marwah is ahead of former Deputy CM Manish Sisodia. AAP’s current MLA Amanatullah Khan continues to hold his advantage over AIMIM and the BJP in Okhla. Additionally, Mohan Singh Bisht, the current MLA for Karawal Nagar who was succeeded by Kapil Mishra, has secured a lead exceeding 40,000 votes in Mustafabad.
What is involved?
It’s a crucial fight for the AAP, aiming for a fourth win after having ruled the national capital for two successive terms. The BJP, aiming for a comeback to power here after 27 years, focused its 2025 campaign on decisive leadership under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The exit polls have significantly forecasted a win for the BJP, securing approximately 40-45 seats in the 70-member Assembly. In the meantime, the AAP has found it difficult to surpass the majority threshold of 36, while the Congress remains stagnant with nearly no seats, as reported by most pollsters.

Atishi is in the lead from Kalkaji while BJP’s Bidhuri falls behind
After trailing for a long time from the Kalkaji seat, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi is now back in the lead, albeit by just over 900 votes.
BJP triumphs in Rajouri Garden
In Rajouri Garden, Manjinder Singh Sirsa from the Bharatiya Janata Party secured a significant win, garnering 64,132 votes and achieving an impressive increase of 18,190 votes. In the meantime, A Dhanwati Chandela A from the Aam Aadmi Party suffered a defeat, garnering 45,942 votes, reflecting a decline of 18,190 votes. Moreover, Dharam Pal Chandela from the Indian National Congress significantly lagged, obtaining just 3,198 votes, indicating a notable deficit of 60,934 votes.
