Shariful Islam’s Fingerprints Match Those Found at Saif Ali Khan’s Home, Adding New Twist in Actor’s Attack Case with Positive Forensic Evidence

A significant development in the attack case of Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has emerged with new forensic evidence that may strengthen the case against the accused, Shariful Islam. The Mumbai Police, who had earlier claimed that none of the 19 fingerprints collected from the actor’s Bandra residence matched those of the arrested suspect, now reveal that some of those fingerprints do match Shariful Islam’s prints.

The man arrested in the case of the attack on Saif Ali Khan is Shariful Islam, a Bangladeshi national. Earlier reports mentioned that there was a mismatch between the evidence found and the suspect’s prints; however, as per the update from the State CID, a few of the fingerprint samples now match those taken from the crime scene. The police still did not get the final forensic report, but according to sources, this new evidence might play a significant role in the continuing probe.

The initial confusion arose when the Mumbai Police reported that none of the 19 fingerprints obtained from the actor’s residence matched Shariful Islam’s prints, which simply seemed to open up the possibility of the evidence not being valid. However, with the latest breakthrough, it was all clarified and some fingerprints have finally been matched with the accused. While the investigation continues, the authorities would take appropriate care of the findings and the final forensic results are expected soon.

The Mumbai Police held an identification parade of the accused on February 6 at the Arthur Road Jail. The court authorized the identification process, and a Tehsildar supervised the parade. Ariyama Philip, a nurse, and Junu, an Aaya, who were at the scene when the attack happened, identified the assailant to be Shariful Islam during the parade. Another layer of evidence against the accused has been established.

Earlier, the Mumbai Police had also confirmed that Shariful Islam’s facial recognition test, carried out on January 31, was positive. The test matched the face seen in the CCTV footage of the crime scene with Shariful Islam. This matching, along with the matching fingerprints, further confirms the case against the suspect and indicates his role in the attack on the actor.

Case of the attack on Saif Ali Khan is under investigation, and with the new development arising from the latest evidence, the authorities are moving with caution. Finally, when the forensic report comes in along with further investigation, they will prove to be more helpful in bringing clarity to the case in the coming days.
