Fadnavis Hits Back at Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Allegations, Says ‘Maharashtra Won’t Forgive’ and Demands an Apology
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis turned the heat against Bharatiya Janata Party’s Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who recently said most of the freshly enrolled voters come from constituencies where Bharatiya Janata Party has been declared the winner, meaning fraud was there in the recent elections. “If Rahul Gandhi is so sure of such malafide acts, he must think and apologize, and not doubt the democratic set-up of Maharashtra,” Fadnavis reacted.
Fadnavis vs Rahul Gandhi: Not much was over when a reaction came for the allegations presented by Rahul Gandhi. Fadnavis pointed out that Rahul Gandhi disrespected the Maharashtra people by going against their democratic mandate they delivered. He informed Rahul Gandhi that this is the Maharashtra land of famous historical persons of legendary repute, like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Phule, and Veer Savarkar. When such election results become a matter for question, people’s will goes in vain in the election as an insult.

Introspect, not the state of Maharashtra! You have insulted people of Maharashtra, a land that has pride of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Phule and Veer Savarkar. You have challenged the democratic mandate given by people of Maharashtra to NDA merely because your party was defeated, Fadnavis said. He further taunted that the people of Maharashtra will not hear it if Gandhi says that he would get his people win threatening other people by atrocities, he asked him to do public apology instead.
Lok Sabha where Rahul Gandhi threw allegations
Rahul Gandhi said this while taking part in a discussion on Motion of Thanks for President’s Address in Lok Sabha. Between assembly and Lok Sabha polls, it has added to electoral rolls here almost 70 lakh new electors. A population the size of Himachal Pradesh almost. Gandhi was also puzzled at how this could be increased in just five months while, during the previous five years, fewer voters were added. New voter additions proved to benefit more the BJP than other parties and further added to concerns of manipulation.

Political Fallout and Reactions
Fadnavis’ remarks reflect the BJP’s firm stance against any claims that challenge the legitimacy of their electoral victory. The heated exchange between the two leaders is a continuation of the broader political battle between the BJP and the Congress-led INDIA bloc. While Gandhi’s statements have triggered a sharp reaction from the ruling party, his claims have also sparked discussions about the integrity of voter registration processes in India.
Only time can tell if Gandhi will come out and make an apology over the demand that Fadnavis has posed, or the controversy will mount further in coming days as political tension peeks.
