Jaideep Ahlawat Defends Alia Bhatt, Says Star Kids Understand the Profession Better

Jaideep Ahlawat defends Alia Bhatt, says star kids understand films better due to their upbringing

Actor Jaideep Ahlawat, known for his powerful performances, recently came out in support of Alia Bhatt, who has often been at the center of the nepotism debate in Bollywood. Alia, the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, has faced criticism for being a nepo kid, but Ahlawat believes such comments are unfair.

In an interview, Ahlawat defended Alia, saying, They must have their own struggles. Alia is such a brilliant actress. Imagine if she had to read comments all day calling her a nepo kid. How strange must that feel? Is it her fault that she was born in Mahesh Bhatt’s house?

He further explained that growing up in a film family gives star kids a natural understanding of the profession. “A child who begins watching  films at the age of three or four will naturally comprehend the job better. It’s equivalent to a doctor’s child becoming a doctor. If people keep saying, ‘Oh, you’re a doctor’s child, so you’ll become a doctor too,’ won’t they get frustrated? It’s not their fault,” he added.

Ahlawat, who worked with Alia in the 2018 film Raazi, praised her dedication and professionalism. “Alia comes to the set with so much preparation. You can see it in Raazi. When we worked together, it was clear how well she had prepared for her role,” he said.

On the work front, Jaideep Ahlawat was recently seen in Paatal Lok 2 and is rumored to be part of the upcoming season of The Family Man alongside Manoj Bajpayee. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt was last seen in Jigra with Vedang Raina. She has several exciting projects lined up, including Alpha, a spy-thriller with Sharvari and Bobby Deol, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, where she will reunite with Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.

Ahlawat’s comments highlight the ongoing debate around nepotism in Bollywood, while also acknowledging the hard work and talent of star kids like Alia Bhatt. As the industry continues to evolve, the focus remains on talent and dedication, regardless of one’s background.
