Coldplay’s Ahmedabad concert to stream live on Republic Day, special trains arranged for fans
British rock band Coldplay has announced a special treat for their Indian fans. Their Ahmedabad concert on January 26, Republic Day, will be streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar, allowing fans across India to enjoy the performance from home.
In a video message on Instagram, Coldplay’s lead vocalist Chris Martin, joined by other band members, expressed excitement about performing in India. “Namaste to all our friends in India. We are thrilled to announce that on January 26, our show in Ahmedabad will stream live on Disney+ Hotstar. We can’t wait to perform in your beautiful country,” Martin said.
India Tour Details
The band, consisting of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion, and Phil Harvey, kicked off their India tour in Mumbai. Coldplay will perform at DY Patil Sports Stadium on January 18, 19, and 21. The tour will then move to Ahmedabad, where concerts are scheduled for January 25 and 26 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Before Coldplay’s performances, audiences will enjoy opening acts by artists Shone, Elyanna, and Jasleen Royal.
The India tour, organized by BookMyShow Live, marks a significant highlight in the band’s Music of the Spheres world tour. After wrapping up their India performances, Coldplay will head to Hong Kong and South Korea in April.
Special Travel Arrangements
To accommodate fans traveling for the Ahmedabad concerts, Western Railway has introduced two special trains between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. These “winter specials,” scheduled for January 25 and 26, aim to ease the rush caused by high airfares and full trains on this route.
The trains will leave Mumbai’s Bandra Terminus at 6:15 am and reach Ahmedabad by the afternoon. Return trips are scheduled for early mornings on January 26 and 27. Stops include Borivali, Surat, Vadodara, and other key stations.
With Coldplay’s live stream and dedicated travel arrangements, fans are set to celebrate an unforgettable Republic Day with the iconic band.
