The much-awaited screening of Vikramaditya Motwane’s prison drama Black Warrant was held in Mumbai on Thursday evening, drawing a crowd of Bollywood stars. Among the attendees was actor Ranbir Kapoor, who came to support his cousin Zahan Kapoor.
Zahan, the grandson of late Bollywood legend Shashi Kapoor, stars in Black Warrant, which premieres on Netflix India today. Ranbir, known for his effortless style, posed for photographs alongside Zahan and director Vikramaditya Motwane. The Brahmastra actor looked stylish in a denim-on-denim outfit, pairing a white T-shirt with a denim jacket and matching jeans, completing the look with white sneakers.

The event turned out to be a star-studded affair. Celebrities like Ananya Panday, Pratik Gandhi, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Ali Fazal were also present at the screening, showing their support for the upcoming series.
Talking about Black Warrant, the makers had released its teaser in December 2024. The teaser introduces Zahan Kapoor’s character as he struggles to adapt to the harsh realities of prison life. The story hints at a tough journey of survival, with actor Rahul Bhatt playing the role of a stern police officer.

Black Warrant marks Zahan Kapoor’s debut in the world of web series. The series is directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and Satyanshu Singh, with co-directors Ambiecka Pandit, Arkesh Ajay, and Rohin Raveendran Nair. It also features Paramvir Singh Cheema, Anurag Thakur, and Sidhant Gupta in significant roles.
The show is presented by Applause Entertainment in collaboration with Andolan Production and Confluence Media. It is inspired by true events and based on the book Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer by Sunil Gupta, a former Tihar Jail superintendent, and journalist-author Sunetra Choudhury.
With a compelling plot and a talented cast, Black Warrant is set to offer audiences a gripping glimpse into life behind bars.
