Six arrested for vandalizing actor Allu Arjun’s home amid Pushpa 2 premiere stampede controversy
Six individuals accused of vandalizing Telugu actor Allu Arjun’s residence in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, were granted bail on Monday after appearing before a city court. The incident took place on Sunday evening when a group of people, allegedly part of the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC), protested outside the actor’s house.
According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West Zone, Hyderabad, the protesters held placards and shouted slogans against the actor. One of them climbed the compound wall and began throwing tomatoes. Police quickly detained six individuals involved in the incident.
The vandalism followed controversy surrounding Allu Arjun’s recent movie premiere. On December 4, during the release of Pushpa 2: The Rule at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, a stampede-like situation occurred. A massive crowd had gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor, who appeared and waved to fans from the sunroof of his car. The incident resulted in the death of a woman named Revathi and injuries to her son.
Sandhya Theatre Mishap and CM’s Statement
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy addressed the incident in the state Assembly, highlighting police warnings issued before the event. According to the CM, the police had denied permission for any public gathering at Sandhya Theatre, citing safety concerns due to the congested location with only one entry and exit point.

Despite these warnings, Allu Arjun attended the premiere, climbed onto his car’s roof, and interacted with fans. This led to chaos, with the crowd surging forward to see the actor. Police intervention was necessary to manage the situation.
“The ACP had requested Allu Arjun to leave to control the crowd, but he initially refused, stating he would stay to watch the movie,” CM Reddy explained. “Even while leaving, the actor repeated the act of climbing onto his car’s roof and waving to fans, further worsening the situation.”
The tragic incident has sparked criticism and protests, with the recent vandalism being linked to the ongoing controversy surrounding the actor’s actions during the premiere. Legal and public safety measures are being reviewed in light of these events.
