In a significant breakthrough, security forces have neutralized five terrorists in an encounter in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter, which began early morning, resulted in the killing of five terrorists, while two jawans were wounded in the operation.
Encounter Details
According to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the kulgam encounter began at around 4:30 am in the Chowgam of Jammu and Kashmir. The security forces, comprising the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF, had launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area based on intelligence inputs.

As Terrorists Open Fire, Security Forces Retaliate
As the security forces approached the suspected hideout, the terrorists opened fire, prompting the security forces to retaliate. The encounter lasted for several hours, resulting in the killing of five terrorists.
Two Jawans Wounded, Hospitalized
Two jawans were wounded during the kulgam encounter and have been hospitalized. Their condition is reported to be stable.
Terrorist Affiliation, Arms Recovered
The affiliation of the slain terrorists is yet to be ascertained. However, security forces have recovered a cache of arms and ammunition, including AK-47 rifles and pistols, from the encounter site.
