Popular Punjabi singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh has announced that he will not perform in India until the country improves its infrastructure for live concerts. The announcement was made during his concert in Chandigarh on December 14, leaving fans surprised and disappointed.
Diljit shared his concerns about the lack of proper facilities for live shows in India. Speaking in Punjabi during the concert, he said, “We do not have the infrastructure needed for live concerts here. Live shows generate significant revenue and create jobs for many people. Until proper concert infrastructure is developed, I will not do shows in India. That is for sure.”

He also mentioned his wish to have a stage set up in the center of the venue during his next performance, allowing the audience to surround it for a more immersive experience.
Dedication to Chess Champion Gukesh Dommaraju
At his Chandigarh concert, Diljit dedicated the event to Gukesh Dommaraju, India’s newly crowned International Chess Federation (FIDE) World Champion. He praised Gukesh for his dedication and hard work at a young age, which helped him achieve such a remarkable feat.
Diljit also took to Instagram to share moments from his performance. He shared a motivational message with his fans, encouraging them to overcome challenges to achieve their goals. Referring to the famous line Jhukega Nahi from the movie Pushpa, Diljit humorously added his own twist, saying, “Saala nahi jhukega toh kya jija jhuk jayega”.

CCPCR Advisory Before the Chandigarh Concert
Before his show, the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) issued an advisory urging Diljit to avoid performing songs that glorify alcohol, drugs, or violence. Songs like Patiala Peg, 5 Tara, and Case were specifically mentioned in the advisory.
Diljit’s India tour will conclude with a performance in Guwahati on December 29. Fans are now hoping for improved concert infrastructure so that the singer can return to perform in India in the future.
