Pushpa 2: Surpasses Kalki 2898 AD to Emerge as the Top-Grossing Indian Film of 2024
Pushpa 2: Allu Arjun's Pushpa 2 The Rule has taken the box office by storm, becoming the 4th largest Indian film success, overtaking Prabhas' Kalki 2898 AD.

Pushpa 2 The Rule is setting new records at the box office daily. The all-India action drama serves as a sequel to the successful 2019 film Pushpa: The Rise, featuring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil returning as Pushpa Raj, Srivalli, and Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat from the initial installment.
Beats Kalki 2898 AD
The movie Pushpa 2 has surpassed Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan’s Kalki 2898 AD to emerge as the top-grossing Indian film of 2024. Launched in June 2024, the Nag Ashwin-directed film accumulated Rs 1042 crore globally. The Allu Arjun film garnered Rs 1012.70 crore during its initial week. According to initial estimates, Pushpa 2 has generated Rs 35 crore on its eighth day in theaters, making it the highest-grossing Indian film of the year.

Pushpa 2 is now ready to compete with the current Top 3 contenders, which include Ram Charan and NTR Jr’s RRR, Yash’s KGF 2, and SS Rajamouli-Prabhas-Rana Daggubati’s Baahubali 2 – The Conclusion.
Opening day records
Previously, Pushpa 2 achieved a record-setting opening at the box office on December 5. It generated a net of Rs 175 crore in India and a worldwide gross of Rs 294 crore at the box office, surpassing the previous record set by RRR by a significant amount. The Hindi dubbed edition of the film has surpassed Jawan to become the largest opener in Hindi film history.
Pushpa 3: The Rampage
Written and helmed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 garnered fantastic reviews from both audiences and critics. The key highlights include Allu Arjun’s performance, impressive action sequences, and powerful elevation moments. However its length of 3 hours and 20 minutes and unrealistic climax sequence are its main disadvantages. Pushpa 2: The Rule will be succeeded by Pushpa 3: The Rampage.
