Sadhguru urges Parliament to avoid disruptions, focus on supporting Indian businesses amid Adani protests
Amid ongoing disruptions in Parliament over the Adani Group controversy, spiritual leader Sadhguru has urged lawmakers to prioritize constructive discussions and support Indian businesses. He emphasised that those who generate riches and create jobs shouldn’t be the focus of political discussion.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Sadhguru expressed his concerns: “It is disheartening to observe disruptions in the Indian Parliament, particularly when we aspire to be a beacon of democracy for the world. The wealth creators and job providers of India should not become subjects of political rhetoric. If there are discrepancies, they can be handled within the framework of law but should not become political football. Most important that Indian businesses must thrive. It’s the only way Bharat will become Bhavya Bharat.”

The Winter Session of Parliament, which began on November 25, has witnessed repeated adjournments with little legislative progress. The session, set to conclude by December 20, has been overshadowed by protests and heated debates.
Congress MPs have been demanding a discussion on allegations linked to a US Department of Justice indictment involving Adani Green directors. However, this demand has led to differences within the Opposition. Allies like the Trinamool Congress have called for addressing other pressing issues, such as inflation, the Manipur unrest, and unemployment.

The Adani Group has strongly denied allegations of bribery. Founder Gautam Adani emphasized that such challenges are not new for the conglomerate and remarked, “Every attack makes us stronger.”
In addition to the Adani issue, other factors have contributed to the disruptions. These include a no-confidence motion against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and BJP allegations that Congress worked with US billionaire George Soros to destabilize the nation, a claim Congress has rejected.
Sadhguru’s comments underline the importance of fostering a productive atmosphere in Parliament to support economic growth and stability while ensuring that critical issues are addressed constructively and lawfully.
