Jamshedpur FC Registers Dominant 3-1 Victory Over Mohammedan SC in ISL 2024-25 with Goals from Sanan, Siverio, and Eze, Despite Late Consolation from Irshad
Jamshedpur FC marked a return to winning ways in the Indian Super League with a dominant 3-1 victory over Mohammedan SC on Monday at the JRD Tata Sports Complex. After a series of tough matches, the Red Miners took full advantage of their home ground to secure all three points in a comprehensive manner.
The match began slowly, and both teams took time to settle into their rhythm. While the initial exchanges were fairly tentative, Jamshedpur FC’s relentless attacking style soon started to cause problems for the visitors. The breakthrough came in the 53rd minute when Mohammed Sanan gave Jamshedpur FC the lead. A fast break saw Javier Siverio rise high to win a header in midfield. His precise pass found Tetsuya Tachikawa, who expertly sent Sanan down the left flank. Sanan, with an evasive drop of the shoulder, lost his marker, then smashed a powerful shot in the top-right hand side of the net past the goalkeeper of Mohammedan SC Bhaskar Roy.

Jamshedpur FC remained very dominant after that goal with many attacks. Mohammedan SC lacked all kinds of proper initiative from their front. Though Mohammedan SC had a couple of half-chances from open play, they were totally held out by the defenses of Jamshedpur. The hosts kept the pressure up on Mohammedan SC, which eventually came to fruition at 61 minutes. It was a corner kick after which Bhaskar Roy could not hold onto his header and let the spill of the ball. Quick on his part, Siverio was to slot that ball into the back of the net and thus doubled Jamshedpur’s lead.
The match saw a series of tactical changes from Khalid Jamil’s side, with Lazar Cirkovic and Seiminlen Doungel replacing Javi Hernandez and Imran Khan. These substitutions provided stability to both ends of the pitch, and just after the drinks break, Doungel had an excellent chance to seal the game with a third goal. Tachikawa and Siverio linked up well again, with Tachikawa finding Doungel on the right. But Bhaskar Roy reacted quickly, coming off his line to parry the ball away, keeping the hope of his team alive-if only briefly.
Jamshedpur FC continued to push, and in the 79th minute, Stephen Eze scored a crucial third goal. A chaotic situation inside the Mohammedan SC penalty area following a corner kick saw the ball bounce around before Eze struck a powerful shot past the goalkeeper, making it 3-0. At this point, the game seemed out of reach for the visitors, but they weren’t done yet.

SC finally seemed to find their foothold again when Mohammedan forward Mohammed Irshad came on in the 88th minute to hit in Zodingliana Ralte free-kick head but had soared high from distance as the ball rocketed off a header past Albino Gomes Jamshedpur to level matters at 3-1. The visitors continued to play with a purposeful intent, but the dream was short-lived, as Pratik Chaudhuri committed a foul against Cesar Manzoki inside the box. The latter was awarded a penalty; however, Albino Gomes was there to deny Franca that spot-kick for the sixth time in ISL history.
With this win, Jamshedpur FC claimed their fifth victory of the season and moved forward with renewed confidence. Mohammedan SC, despite a late surge, left empty-handed and will now prepare for their upcoming match against Punjab FC on December 6. Jamshedpur FC, on the other hand, will face Punjab FC at home on December 13, looking to extend their winning run.
