Rupali Ganguly’s stepdaughter, Esha Verma, responded to the actress filing a defamation case worth Rs 50 crore against her. In a heartfelt Instagram post, Esha characterized the action as “upsetting” and “harsh,” stating that it exposed the real intentions of the individuals.

Esha explained her reason

Esha disclosed that she had been feeling confined in a situation she couldn’t break free from for 24 years. For her, telling her story was a way to achieve freedom and justice. She said, “I never meant to hurt anyone, just to share the experiences that have influenced me. By doing this, I wanted to empower others who may be dealing with similar challenges, particularly within their families. Being a citizen of the United States, I have utilized my right to express myself truthfully”.

Additionally, she penned, “This choice generated a lot of interest on social media and among the general public.” Speaking out was the most difficult action I’ve ever taken, however, it also marked a significant shift in my life. It provided understanding, tranquility, and freedom from a long period of quietness. I considered the impact on both myself and those close to me, so I dealt with it cautiously.

Respond to lawsuit

In response to the lawsuit, Esha noted that she found the reactions to her comments very disturbing. One crucial point to consider is that a child should not face consequences for voicing their truth. Even though I am a young adult, I am still my father’s offspring. Their reaction to what I said was unsettling, unkind, and revealed their true nature. I wasn’t just a random person speaking out; I was directly impacted as a family member.
