Glimpse of Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Journey
Born on March 27, 2011, in Tajpur village, Bihar, Vaibhav Suryavanshi started his cricketing journey at the young age of four. His father, Sanjeev, a farmer by profession, found his son possessing a tendency and passion for the game. Sanjeev, though not having any professional background in the game, arranged for a makeshift practice wicket in their backyard. When Vaibhav reached nine years of age, his father sent him to a cricket academy where he showed promise very soon.
Vaibhav was impressive during the Vinoo Mankad Trophy at the age of just 12, when he scored 400 runs in five matches. This performance got him a berth in the India B U-19 side for a quadrangular series in Andhra Pradesh late in 2023. Though he missed the cut to the ICC U-19 World Cup squad, he still sparkled and made it to Bihar’s Ranji Trophy team. He made his first-class debut against Mumbai in January 2024, marking his record as the youngest first-class cricketer since 1986.

It was found that Vaibhav was extremely resilient and determined. He proved his mettle by triumphing over travails. He exhibited brilliance in October 2024 when he recorded a 58-ball century against Australia in an U-19 Test match held at Chennai. It stood as the fastest U-19 hundred scored by an Indian, and he established himself as a potential star of the future.
Future Prospects
IPL Glory:
However, it wasn’t without the price of creating a mini-bidding war between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals in the IPL auction. When the Rajasthan Royals finally sealed the deal, Vaibhav overnight turned from a small-town dreamer to a crorepati. The deal reiterated the motive with which the IPL has sustained young talent and highlights the monstrous potential of emerging cricketers like Vaibhav Suryavanshi.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi makes his foray into the world of IPL and greets everybody with the spirit of perseverance and passion, and cricketing fraternity feels it’s high time their star punches his mark on both domestic and international fronts.
