Nishant Jaiswal, an earnest participant, reached the Rs 50 lakh question but quit instead of risking losing the winnings. Before giving a critical answer, Nishant revealed his touching story about family problems. Reliving his father’s limited salary and the sacrifices that were made to send him to college, Nishant said he wanted to use any prize money to better lives. His poignant words made even Big B visibly tears-eyed.

The pivotal Rs 50 lakh question asked by Amitabh Bachchan was: “Which photographer, who clicked pictures of Gandhiji in real life, was played by Candice Bergen in the Oscar-winning movie Gandhi?” Options were:
A. Homai Vyarawalla
B. Elizabeth Miller
C. Gerda Taro
D. Margaret Bourke-White

The question left Nishant puzzled. The video call-a-friend lifeline provided little clarity. Nishant did not want to gamble; he quit the game and took home Rs 25 lakh. Having dropped out, Nishant made a speculative choice-this time, however, correctly choosing option D, Margaret Bourke-White, which was the correct answer. Had he remained in the game, Nishant would have gone on to pocket Rs 50 lakh-a bittersweet realization both for him and the viewers.
