Last year, Disha Patani’s father, Jagdish Singh Patani, a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police, was conned ₹ 25 lakh by a five member gang. The scammers offered him a very senior position on a political commission in the government; they offered to bring him in based on their associations with the political party .

The gang comprising of Shivdera Pratap Singh, Diwakar Garg, Acharya Jayaprakash of Juna Akhara, Preeti Garg and one unknown person coerced Jagdish Singh Patani into paying Rs 5 lakh in cash and Rs 20 lakh through cheques into three different banks accounts. They also used the technique, to introduce one of their contacts, Himanshu as an ‘Officer on Special Duty.

The Scam Unfolds
A Bareilly based man Jagdish Singh Patani a resident of Civil Lines filed a complaint that Shivendra Pratap Singh with whom he is acquainted shaped a plot and imposed Diwakar Garg and Acharya Jayaprakash. The accused promised him a chairmanship, vice-chairmanship or other similar post in a government commission.
Investigation Underway
The five men have been reported to the police and an FIR has been filed against them for cheating, criminal intimidation and extortion. Police are investigating the case at the moment .The circumstances described for the probe reveal that fraudsters often learn about potential victims through the internet and often their intended targets are retirees such as retired officials.
Disha Patani last worked in featured film _Kanguva_ opposite actor Suriya which couldn’t get good response in trading world though audience response was moderate ². This incident has really created embarrassment to the actress’s family.
