Shah Rukh Khan Receives Death Threat: Police Trace Call to Raipur Lawyer Who Previously Complained Against Actor
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently received a death threat with Mumbai Police tracing the call to a lawyer from Raipur, Faizan Khan. The threat was made on Tuesday and the caller demanded ₹50 lakh, threatening serious consequences if the ransom wasn’t paid. The call was made to the landline of the Bandra Police station, and an investigation began in the matter immediately.
Police discovered it was a call from Faizan Khan, lawyer, who himself had filed a complaint against Shah Rukh Khan earlier. Faizan Khan contended that his phone was stolen on 2 November before the warning was issued, and he already had an FIR at Raipur police station. He reiterated that he was innocent and thought the call was part of a conspiracy against him.

Faizan Khan had earlier lodged his complaint over an argument in Shah Rukh Khan’s 1994 film Anjaam wherein he said there was an insult to the Bishnoi community of Rajasthan, famous for deer protection. He claimed that his complaint was grounded on the religious faith of Bishnoi, with whom he has deep relationships. All this is now fueling speculations about whether this call threat has anything to do with his previous issues with Shah Rukh Khan or someone is framing him for it. Mumbai police have taken all steps that come to co-operate with the Raipur police and will take the proper steps to crack the case.
This is after actor Salman Khan was reportedly issued with death threats earlier in the year. The alleged origin of the call was the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. This has ensured that Salman Khan’s security detail has been upgraded to Y-plus and armed guards are now permanently mounted at his home. All these events will probably have to see Shah Rukh Khan’s security detail reviewed, too. The police treat this very seriously as they try to unpack the origin of the call.
