In an unprecedented move in history, US President-elect Donald Trump has appointed Susie Wiles to the position of Chief of Staff at the White House. She is the first woman ever to occupy this much-sought office. The appointment was made just days after Trump’s decisive win against Democrat Kamala Harris in the 2024 US presidential election. Wiles, 67, who was a key player in both victories of the Trump’s two successful campaigns in 2016 and 2020, is rewarded for her much-needed political sagacity and tenacious defense of the Republican Party.
As per one statement by Trump, Wiles is “tough, smart, innovative, and universally admired and respected.” In his view, the appointment of Wiles as the first-ever female Chief of Staff in the US history comes as a “well-deserved honor.” She was responsible for remarkable contributions towards Trump’s campaigns, and with campaign manager Chris LaCivita, she played an essential role in his presidential wins.

She played a key role in Ronald Reagan’s presidential campaign in 1980 and helped Florida’s Republican Governor Ron DeSantis win his re-election race in 2018. Then Wiles managed former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman Jr. briefly during the latter’s own Presidential campaign in 2012, another long-term political operative.
