Surbhi Chandna and Karan Sharma Celebrate Their First Diwali After Marriage with Special Traditions and Festive Memories
Actor Surbhi Chandna and her businessman husband Karan Sharma have reasons to smile this Diwali as it would be their first festival after marriage. The two had tied the knot in March this year. “All the firsts are special, especially festivals,” says Surbhi. “Diwali is my favourite festival.”. It’s a reminder that the year is ending, and now is the time to enjoy it before the new one arrives.

The couple has been together for 14 years, and Surbhi says they have never spent a Diwali separated in their relationship. This year, though is special as they are first going to perform Lakshmi Puja as the married couple. “It’s our first Diwali in our house together, and we can hardly wait to learn the routines and even invent a little of our own,” smiles Karan.
He reveals that they cannot wait to have all the play and frolic traditions at their place like their house decoration, diyas lighting, and naturally enjoying all celebrations and sweets. “We plan to throw a close friend Diwali get together, and time permitting, Surbhi and I will even try cooking up some Diwali delicacies together in the kitchen as well,” he says.
One of the best memories of Diwali for them was the time they created a rangoli together at Karan’s house in 2015. For Surbhi, it is the first special memory in her early days of the relationship. “Before that, we’d always just meet up with friends, but that year, we decided to do something together. It was during the newness of our relationship, so it felt very special.”

He believes that after the marriage took place, his love for Surbhi deepened. “But still, marriage hasn’t really changed much between us. We’re still best friends and that’s what makes our relationship so easy and enjoyable.” Surbhi shares the same thought. “We do not put pressure on this idea of marriage.
When you think too much of the responsibilities, it will get overwhelming.”. But I think it is a need to live for the moment and sometimes let go. She states she is still learning together with him.

Karan adds with his characteristic wit, “Honestly, we only feel married during interviews. Otherwise, it doesn’t feel like it.” His funny one-liner makes Surbhi smile, and she concludes with, “It feels like I married my best friend. This new beginning is beautiful, almost like a movie.”.
