Rajkumar Hirani Provides Exciting Update on Munna Bhai 3, Revealing Unique Ideas and Sanjay Dutt’s Eagerness to Revisit the Beloved Character

Everyone is eagerly awaiting Munna Bhai 3, more so with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi being more than eager to it as well since the director now claims that his top priority presently is developing the third installment. Speaking at the unveiling of SCREEN in Mumbai, he gave a peep into his creative process and said that he has been working on multiple concepts for the beloved franchise.

He said he had five half-written scripts, which include appealing titles like Munna Bhai LLB, Munna Bhai Chal Base, and Munna Bhai Chale Amreeka. Though he was not able to take it beyond the interval in a few drafts, he did not lose hope about writing a script that would be better than the previous lot. “The next installment has to get better than the previous films,” he emphasized his commitment to keeping up quality of the franchise.

The filmmaker also hinted at a “unique idea” for the upcoming film, acknowledging the challenge of finding fresh narratives in the cinematic landscape that says “everything has been said.” He claimed that the reason for trying to hasten the project is because Sanjay Dutt is very enthusiastic and one might even threaten him that Dutt might tell him to go ahead with the film.

Audiences will remember Munna Bhai, which has been entertaining since its release in 2003. The success of Sanjay Dutt’s Munna Bhai and Arshad Warsi’s Circuit has definitely left an imprint, and the previous films—Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai—are pieces of cultural history. Yet despite the setbacks already experienced in the past, just like Munna Bhai Chale America – a project scheduled during Dutt’s legal troubles – was called off, the third part is again under much discussion. Or at least, the commitment shown by Hirani may prove that the great cult characters are about to be back on screen.
