A Chennai bound IndiGo flight was in a fix with a bomb threat letter being found on the flight on Sunday, causing huge inconvenience. It had in its capacity 169 passengers on board, one of them being a minister and another a high court judge, explaining the extent of the possible occurrence. After receiving the threat call, CISF officials climbed all over the flight and passengers of the airplane before its next departure at 6 in the evening. After the completion of standard operational security measures, the IndiGo officials lodged a complaint with Peelamedu airport authorities, thereby ensuring that passenger safety remained their utmost priority.

This comes after the another aviation concern in a Air India Express flight of Trichy-Sharjah route. On Friday evening, this flight experienced a technical hitch soon after it had taken off this flight stayed in the air for over two hours. Members of the crew decided to circle Trichy airspace more than an hour in order to eliminate any extra fuel before taking forced landing. Thankfully the aircraft made a safe and successful landing and continued scrutiny was provided by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) was provided.

Due to the emergency, Trichy airport beefed up security with over 20 ambulances and fire tenders lined up just in case of any eventuality according to Airport Director Gopalakrishnan. Such occurrences highlight the fact that despite the increasing concerns, air travel safety has not been an easy commodity to achieve.
