PM Narendra Modi to launch development projects worth over Rs 7,600 crore in Maharashtra today. The media could also be briefed from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) which disclosed that these projects will be commissioned through video conferencing.

One of the major initiatives among such projects is the Nagpur’s Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport worth Rs 7,000 crore for its further upgrade. It is believed that this upgrade will enhance the industries such as aviation; tourism; manufacturing; and health care sectors in Vidarbha region. Another major project is for the construction of the New Integrated Terminal Building at Shirdi Airport that cost 645 crore where the design depict the neem tree of Sai Baba. The terminal will be able to accommodate the increasing religious travelers visiting the shrine of Shirdi.

PM MODI will also lay the foundation stone for 10 new government medical colleges such as Mumbai, Nashik at Jalana for better healthcare facility and increased number of seats for medical studies in Maharashtra state. This initiative will serve to deliver tertiary healthcare services and also create opportunities for education to students intending to become doctors.

Furthermore, officially, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the Indian Institute of Skills (IIS) at Mumbai which is aimed at developing a pool of skilled human resource to meet the demands of the emerging sectors like Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Mechatronics etc. PM Modi will also inaugurate the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK), a facility for enhanced education management using real time academic and administrative data to the students and faculties in Maharashtra.
