Delhi Endures Unrelenting Heat Wave as Uttar Pradesh and Bihar Prepare for Rain and Thunderstorms: A Detailed Weather Update

Delhi is in for another week of high temperatures and while there may be slight respite from the heat, things are unlikely to get any cooler soon. The IMD predicts the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 35-36 degree Celsius in the capital and there are likely to be clear sky conditions and intense sun shine. The minimum temperature will hover around 24-25 WAS, and the discomfort from heat and humidity will therefore continue. Delhi peaked at 35.7 degrees Celsius on Sunday, which is one degree above the seasonal average and the relative humidity stood between 90 per cent and 37 per cent to make things worse.

However, there is bad weather in the sweep for Uttar Pradesh, and the IMD has forecasted that there would be thunderstorms in several districts such as Kaushambi, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur and rainfall. Other regions in the west of the state will also have showers, especially in Lucknow where gusty winds and 15 mm of rain on the Sunday have help slightly.

Bihar will remain hot and humid as the day is conditioned by a cyclonic circulation prevailing over Gangetic West Bengal. The south-central and eastern parts of the country are expected to receive light rain and even thunderstorms but the temperatures are not expected to lower. Maximum twenty-four hours temperature of Patna was 32.0º C and Gopalganj was highest temperature of state 35.1º C.
