Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal has decided to let out his government accommodation at 6 Flagstaff Road, Delhi during this Friday. After demitting office, Kejriwal will shift along with family to house number 5 Ferozeshah Road in Lutyens Delhi. The bungalow, which was allotted to AAP Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab, Ashok Mittal has been vacated and is right just adjacent to AAP’s office.

Some of the party’s members had provided their houses to Kejriwal after he shifted out from the Civil Line residence which he occupied since 2015. Even Mittal said he was happy in a video message, adding that he had been honored Kejriwal accepted his invitation to stay at his house. Party strategists said that it means Kejriwal can give more time and attention to AAP’s electoral battles for the forthcoming elections in the Delhi and other states.

At the same time, ex-Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has relocated to a bungalow on Rajendra Prasad Road used to be owned by AAP Rajya Sabha member Harbhajan Singh. Earlier, Mathura Road residence of Sisodia was replaced with the present chief minister Atishi who still stays in her constituency house in Kalkaji.
The choice to vacate the 6 Flagstaff Road, where the opposition has termed as ”Sheesh Mahal” for alleged reconstruction scams, is a new chapter for Kejriwal ahead of the assembly polls. When he formally sought the position under the CM post, he vowed that he would only come back to reclaim his post if the people would issue him with a “certificate of honesty” during the February vote next year.
