Mohith was informed by a Decathlon representative that the trousers were available only at the ETA Mall in Bengaluru. He was assured that once he paid online, the trousers would be delivered to his address. After making the payment, however, Mohith never received the trousers.

On February 6, Mohith went to the ETA Mall in Bengaluru to find out what happened to his order. He was told that the trousers were missing and that a refund would be issued soon. But despite contacting Decathlon’s customer support several times, Mohith never received the refund.Frustrated by the lack of action, Mohith decided to send a legal notice to Decathlon on April 9. He later discovered that the ETA Mall had shut down. With no response or refund, Mohith took the matter to the district consumer disputes redressal commission, filing an official complaint.

Despite receiving notices from the consumer court, Decathlon did not send any representatives to the hearings. After reviewing the case, the court ruled in favor of Mohith. The court ordered Decathlon to refund ₹1,399 for the trousers, along with ₹25,000 as compensation for the poor service. Additionally, Decathlon was instructed to pay ₹10,000 to cover Mohith’s legal costs.

In total, Decathlon must pay ₹35,000 to Mohith for their failure to deliver the product and refund his money. This case serves as a reminder of the importance of proper customer service and following through on promises made to customers.
