Weather Forecast: From Sept 23-26- IMD Predicts Heavy Rainfall In South, Northeast India

Heavy rainfall is expected in a number of South, Northeastern states, including South Interior Karnataka, Coastal Karnataka, Rayalaseema, Vidarbha, and Assam, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

According to the IMD, there will be isolated to scattered light to moderate rain during the next three days over Madhya Pradesh and scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rain during the next four days over the same region. The IMD also predicted fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall over Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, during the week.

Over the course of the week, there is a good chance of isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, as well as scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall over the rest of the south peninsula of India. This is especially likely to occur over coastal Karnataka.

Over South Interior Karnataka on September 23, Coastal Karnataka, Rayalaseema, North Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe on September 23 and 24, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam on September 23–25, isolated heavy rainfall is most possible.

Over the next three days, there is a good chance of isolated to scattered light to moderate rains over Bihar and Jharkhand, and over the next four days, there is a good chance of scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rains over Odisha, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, West Bengal, and Sikkim.

With the exception of West Rajasthan, where mostly dry weather is expected to persist, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is quite likely to occur over northwest India during the course of the week.
