Following the event, state Education Minister Madan Dilawar instructed that the instructor be placed on suspension. In addition, he issued an order suspending the principal of the school for not acting sooner.

The SHO stated that the student had reported the incident to both her class teacher and the principal. The minor claimed that the accused attempted to coerce her into having sex with him and gripped her hand forcibly on a few occasions. The girl’s parents were informed of her ordeal when the school failed to handle it. When the parents went to the school on Thursday to discuss the situation, the principal and the accused teacher allegedly yelled at them and forced them to leave.

According to SHO Singh, Bairwa was detained on Friday after being charged under sections 11 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with assault or the use of criminal force against a woman with the intention of outing her modesty. The accused was brought before a POCSO court on Friday by the police, who then issued an order to place him under judicial detention.
