This is Mr. Modi’s third visit to the region this year and his first rally in support of BJP candidates in Kashmir prior to the assembly elections in the Union territory.

He stated – My Jammu and Kashmir’s youth are no longer defenseless. Under the Modi administration, he is growing more powerful. The J-K BJP has also made significant pronouncements regarding youth employment, which makes me glad. The BJP will take care of everything, including developing their skills and giving them work without using coercion, he declared. A multi-layered security cord has already been placed around Srinagar’s Sher-e-Kashmir Park in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s election rally, which is set for this Thursday, September 19, 2024.

The prime minister is scheduled to speak during rallies in Katra and Srinagar. This is the first time the BJP has attempted to win a seat in the area, and the party hopes to change that. Volatile areas like south Kashmir’s Pulwama, Anantnag, Kulgam, and Shopian districts—once epicenters of militancy and public protests—on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, shown a notable move toward participatory democracy, with 59% of voters casting ballots in the first round.

In the first round of the J-K polls, Kishtwar achieved the highest turnout (77%), while Pulwama recorded the lowest turnout (46%), according to J-K Chief Electoral Officer P.K. Pole.
