Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan got married in a traditional wedding ceremony held in Mumbai in 2012 afterdating for sometimes. Saif was formerly married to a fellow actor named Amrita Singh, and both divorced in the year 2004. During a recent interview with People magazine in June 2008, Kareena poured her heart out and the first person she talked about was Amrita Singh – a sign of great respect for Saif’s first wife and her importance in his life.
Kareena admitted that she would always respect Amrita Singh, though she is Saif’s first wife and the mother of his two kids. Even though Kareena had never met her sister-in-law Amrita, she had admired her dimpled smile and performances in movies. As for me, as she is Saif Ali Khan’s first wife and the mother of his children, she will always hold an important position in his life, as far as Kareena is concerned and, for instance, she said to Saif. This polite reference recognises Kareena’s courtesy and maturity towards accepting Saif’s past.

She also explained why respect key as she was taught when young by her parents . “I would want her to have that kind of respect always… It was just a marriage that didn’t work out… I have always encouraged Saif to be good friends with her because that should be fine,” she stated. This stance portrays Kareena as the empathetic and supportive woman to accept their family as a blended one.

Saif married Kareena Kapoor on October 16, 2012 and they have two sons – Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan, both referred to as Jeh. Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, children of Saif and Amrita, remain present in their lives proving that modernTW SahsaSaif and Amrita’s children, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan, are still active in the lives of their parents as they demonstrate a rather proper and responsible approach to parenting and relationships within a blended family.
