Sanjay Dutt Replaced by Ravi Kishan in Son of Sardaar 2 Due to UK Visa Rejection Linked to 1993 Arrest; Film Shifts to Scotland for Shooting
Son of Sardaar 2 seems like it will not feature Sanjay Dutt who was part of the first movie due to some issues with his visa to the UK. The movie, which was going to be a sequel to the commercial success of Son of Sardaar released in 2012, was supposed to bring back Dutt and Ajay Devgn in opposing roles. However, currently, the actor Ranbir Kapoor, who was initially cast alongside Dutt in the film Barfi, has had to be replaced due to visa problems that are associated with the actor’s previous criminal records.

The main problem was intertwined with the difficulty Dutt faced in getting UK visa which he had been trying since long, especially due to his arrest in 1993 and conviction under the TADA and Arms Act. Though he has tried several times in previous years to get endorsed for UK travel, Dutt has always been denied an entry which means he cannot travel to Scotland to shoot for the film. As per sources reported by Mid-day, after Dutt’s visa refusal, Ajay Devgn’s team had to work towards replacing him with Ravi Kishan.

Notably, this visa hitch also impacts on whether Dutt would undertake other projects or not in the future as well. For instance it was stated that in the comedy Housefull 5, which is set to be filmed in London, Sajid Nadiadwala, the producer of the movie is all set to make changes to fit this change to accommodate for Dutt. Instead of re-shooting the Gulzar’s scenes, Nadiadwala intends to shoot Dutt’s scenes in Mumbai to avoid visa problems.

Now in Son of Sardaar 2, he will be seen playing the character of Jassi, a character with negative touch which was actually portrayed by Dutt in the prequel. The following movie is planned to go on as a continuation of the film series, which will bring new twists but still remain a comedy.
