Actor Varun Dhawan who was last seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s ‘Bawaal’ in 2023 did a remake of his father David Dhawan’s comedy film ‘Coolie No. 1’ in 2020. In the original film Govinda and Karisma Kapoor were playing the lead roles. Recently Varun was seen watching a re-released movie ‘Raja Babu’ of Govinda enacted in 1994.

PVR-INOX theaters are showing the ‘Raja Babu’ as part of Comedy Film Festival that is scheduled for August 2 to August 14. The multiplex chain recently stated on Instagram that during the festival, they would be airing such old comedies as ‘Raja Babu,’ ‘Masti,’ ‘Golmaal Returns,’ and Partner.
Raja Babu, which was also directed by David Dhawan in 1994, Kader Khan, Aruna Irani and Shakti Kapoor were in the star cast of this film. The main plot of the film centers on a village based couple, who decide to adopt a boy, Raja Singh, performed by Govinda.
Varun Dhawan on his Instagram story posted a picture on August 5 of watching Raja Babu in theatres. This particular video shows a segment from the movie in which Govinda is seen wearing a pair of sunglasses while posing in front of the camera in a naval suit attire. In his Instagram story, Varun mentioned the movie title and used fireworks emojis.

He also provided two more incidents from his experience of watching Raja Babu on the big screen. The second Instagram reel features Govinda bobbing to the music from ‘Pak Chik Pak Raja Babu’ alongside Shakti Kapoor.
The actor mentioned about Govinda and wrote #RAJABABU Secondly, he shared Karisma Kapoor still from Mera Dil Na Todo. In a clip of the latest movie, the actress is shown shaking a leg with Govinda on the big screen.
Now ‘Baby John’, ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’, ‘Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai’ is on his to-do list Varun recently made a cameo appearance in Sharvari Wagh starrer ‘Munjya’ that released earlier this year.
