Lakshya Sen missed winning bronze medal

The 22-year-old badminton player was defeated by Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia in three games with a score of 21-13, 16-21, 11-21 in the men’s singles bronze medal match. Lakshya Sen made history by becoming the first male player to advance to the badminton singles semi-finals at the Olympics. India’s hopes of winning a medal in badminton at the Olympics were dashed with Lakshya’s departure, marking the first time since 2008 that they have missed out on a medal.

Paris Olympics 2024 has reached its 11th day. Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat will begin competing today in the 50kg freestyle category against Japan’s reigning Olympic and four-time world champion, Yui Susaki. Vinesh Phogat is set to compete between 2:45 and 3 PM IST.

Avinash Sable created history

Avinash Mukund Sable made history on Monday, August 5th. The Indian steeplechaser dominated the heat to secure a fifth-place finish and advance to the Olympics final. This is a major accomplishment because Sable is the first Indian ever to make it to the final of the Olympic steeplechase.
