International Tiger Day objective is to advance the creation of an international framework for tigers' natural habitat protection.

International Tiger Day – 29 July

Every year on July 29, Global Tiger Day, also known as International Tiger Day, is a festival dedicated to bringing attention to the issue of tiger conservation. The purpose of the day is to increase public awareness of the magnificent tiger and the value of conservation efforts to preserve this amazing animal. It was developed in 2010 during the Russian Tiger Summit in Saint Petersburg. The day’s objectives are to support a global system that safeguards tigers’ natural habitats and to increase public understanding and support for tiger conservation concerns. It has been demonstrated that International Tiger Day works well to raise tigers’ profile online through information searches.

BHUTAN

On Global Tiger Day 2015, Bhutan revealed the results of its inaugural national tiger survey, which counted 103 wild tigers. More thrilling news from the Himalayan nation for this Global Tiger Day: a wild tiger has been spotted in Bumdeling Wildlife Sanctuary (BWS), a place where they haven’t been seen in almost 20 years! Bhutanese people were very supportive of the #ThumbsUpForTigers campaign and the Tx2 objective of doubling the number of wild tigers in the nation.

Malaysia

As few as 250 Malaysian tigers are thought to survive, making them very endangered. To increase public awareness of the condition of Malaysia’s national animal and the steps being taken to improve the conservation of wild tiger populations in the Belum-Temengor Forest Complex, WWF-Malaysia and Maybank organized an exhibition on this Global Tiger Day. At the Maybank Head Office in Kuala Lumpur, the finished piece of art was unveiled on Global Tiger Day after the public was asked to signify their support with their finger prints.

The largest cat species, tigers are distinguished by their muscular physiques and eye-catching stripes. But there are a lot of threats these amazing animals have to deal with, like:

– Poaching and illicit trade

– Loss and fragmentation of habitat

– Conflict between humans and tigers

Because of this, there are currently only about 3,900 tigers living in the wild, and their numbers are steadily dropping.

In order to promote conservation efforts and raise awareness of the predicament of tigers, International Tiger Day was created in 2010. Global celebrations of the day include activities and campaigns meant to increase public awareness of and financial support for tiger conservation. You can influence change by:

– Endorsing tiger conservation organizations; – Raising awareness of the significance of preserving tigers and their habitats

– Making environmentally beneficial decisions to lessen your influence on the ecosystem.

Together, let’s safeguard these magnificent animals and their environments. Let’s shout for the protection of tigers!
