Saba Azad, the talented actress expressed the discrimination she faced from a patriarchal mentality for a period of two years which did not allow her to do voice-overs.
Later, she expressed herself on Instagram Stories with videos and photos of the event that flooded her IG Stories. This was evident in one of her pictures, where she posed in a recording studio, celebrating being back in a familiar environment after over two years of absence. Saba further said “Well you can imagine what was implied.It has been my responsibility and quite importance to share that this director in the business, super progressive and chill and just like the kind of people I like to associate with and so this was the last thing I expected him to say – in other words, he said, he didn’t think I would do a job like a VO given where one is in life or who one is dating.”

Echoing the concern over the attitudes of the people in the modern society, she continued: “Are we really still in the dark ages where a woman in a relationship has to stop working because she doesn’t have to feed herself anymore or pay rent on her house, bills or fees, take pride in her work, and provide for her family? What kind of retro- primal Orta age
assumption to make?”
She also went on and said, “So I essentially lost a whole career that I absolutely loved and appreciated because people thought I did not need to work again!!” Unfortunately, this is a very rigid and one dimensional patriarchal and regressive outlook.
