‘Maamla Legal Hai’ showrunner Sameer Saxena on Season 2
The first part of this show was successful and therefore the production of ‘Maamla Legal Hai’ was followed by its second season. This show had the main cast of Ravi Kishan, Naila Grewal, Nidhi Bisht, Anant Joshi and many others, the first season was totally liked by the viewers. The show runner of Most Amazing Moments,Captain, Sameer Saxena shared some of the rare moments captured in the show in an interview with India Today. In it, he discussed what the audience can look forward to in the second season. He also explained how he managed to get it right without pissing anyone during the first season.
Surprisingly enough, Sameer Saxena reassures that this time the main characters are to face challenges that would turn their identity different. “Well, we have just started thinking about season 2. It is going to be a continuation of the story. Tyagi and all the other characters have new responsibilities now. Now in season 2, we will see how these guys will be carrying these out and how they will face new and quirky cases. It will also show whether these new cases makes them a different person or continue to remain the same as they were in season 1.
He said, “The show has received a tremendous amount of love and response from the viewers, more than what we expected, and it has thrilled us beyond belief We are going to have more fun and quirky cases This has been very well received and we hope that the viewers will shower us with even more of their love or hopefully even more The whole team is very excited for this a fantastic season.”
However, what the makers got right were the spirit of a courtroom drama and the elements of comedy. And let me tell you here that, comedy is really not a joke, as it looks. Actually, talking about it, Sameer Saxena said, it follows, “I definitely believe that comedy is the most difficult genre that one can attempt to make.

He stated further, “We did not wish to go over the top with the jokes, and we did not wish to make it so realistic that it fails flat. It was good on paper. We made sure it was not changed in the actual implementation as well because in comedy, the actors tend to go overboard easily. At times, when shooting, an actor might do something fun to him/her on set, but later on, feels excessive.
Another aspect is the fact that ‘Maamla Legal Hai’ was also a satirical. “Satire is something rather difficult to get right,” he explained further, “However, what came in handy is the fact that from day one we did not set out to make a statement, and neither did we intend to offend anyone. We kept that in mind while scripting the show as well as while shooting it. That probably worked in our favour. It also reflects on the kind of response the show has been receiving because no one was offended.”
As to the criticism that the show received he said, “The only criticism that we have been receiving is constructive criticism. Some people said this episode is not as tight as the previous one or this track is not as effective in conveying information as the previous one. That is information that we never knew and we should ensure that in general terms in future, especially when we are doing a comedy series we do not repeat such mistakes.
