A brutal event took place in Bodal Kachhar village in the Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh on the night of 29 December, and the community has been left shocked and stunned. In a particularly shocking incident, a man, who was a member of a joint family, perpetrated a horrendous act of violence which saw him hacking to death his eight close kin using an axe. It did not end there as the accused who committed this heinous act jumped to hang himself dead.

The unknown event that took place is still scary and has recently darkened the atmosphere of the village. Upon receiving the call from the residents of Mahuljhiri police station, the authorities were quick to attend to the urgent distress call only to find themselves in one horrifying scene which they could not have dreamt of. Even as the investigation continues to unravel the web, then the reason as to why such an incomprehensible act happened has not been clearly expounded, leaving the society in a state of confusion.

The magnitude of the loss called for the engaging of top d ity bureaucrats, particularly the Chhindwara collector and the superintendent of police (SP), who rushed to the village to supervise the evolving operation. Located at a distance of 100 Kms from the District headquarters, Bodal Kachhar village is griepped with responsibility as it is surrounded by questions and speculations.
