The Mumbai Crime Branch made its sixth arrest on Tuesday in relation to the shooting that took place outside superstar Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra last month.

The person, named Harpal Singh (37), who was convicted, was taken from Fatehabad in Haryana. The police said the involvement of Harpal came out during the interrogation of another suspect, Mohammed Rafique Choudhary. Harpal was supposed to have Choudhary to do a casual check around Salman’s house.
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol Vishnoi, was the main motivator to the shooters. On March 15, Anmol sent the gunmen to Panvel and then they were ordered to fire outside of the actor’s house.

The Crime Branch stated that according to the details, Chaudhary did a recce of the actor’s apartment building on 12th April and made a video of it which he sent to Anmol. Police reported that the shooters, Pal and Gupta, were at first not sure whether to go ahead with the shooting but were eventually convinced by Anmol to do so. They were given a Rs 3 lakh for the task.
Mumbai is the destination of the Bishnoi gang, to whom the two were sent in October of last year. The two have been looking for a place to stay despite several unsuccessful attempts. They managed to get a place in Harigram area in March 2024 with the help of a local rickshaw driver in Panvel.
The firing incident, which occurred on April 14 outside Salman’s house at Galaxy Apartments, created a huge shock in the Bandra area of Mumbai. Later, the arrests showed the link to the Bishnoi gang, which caused the Mumbai Police to use the MCOCA against all the people involved.
A few days after the incident, Salman’s brother Arbaaz Khan said on the family’s behalf, calling it “disturbing and unnerving. ” He said: “We have confidence in the Mumbai police, and we have been assured that they will do everything within their power to protect and uphold our family.
