It’s a common myth that grown-ups require too much milk to strengthen their bones. In actuality, the calcium and other minerals one would get from drinking milk help to keep the bones strong enough to prevent breaking them or getting a fracture. If you enjoy milk and its products like cheese, yogurt, butter etc., taking any of these twice daily is enough for meeting all nutrient needs without causing any unwanted effects.
In case people drink less milk than necessary, they will not be able to obtain required amounts of calcium and vitamin D. Conversely, drinking too much milk exposes them to risk of suffering from iron deficiency anemia.
