Bollywood Backlash: Karan Johar Slams Comedian’s Tasteless Mimicry, Calls Out Industry Disrespect
Karan Johar, a veteran filmmaker in Bollywood, has recently voiced his disgruntlement on Instagram after a show mimicked him, a comedian performing on a television show.
Mimicry Gone Awry: The events unfolded on air during a popular comedy channel show where a comedian made a parody of Johar in what he described as “absolutely poor taste.” Without using direct names of the actors or the comedian, Johar said that he has been let down by an unprofessional person from within the industry.
Unmasking the Mimicker: Although Johar did not specifically refer to the comedian, detectives in the online community quickly ascertained that the singer must have been the recipient of his anger. Singh’s recent promo, where he eventually impersonated Johar and his very famous talk show, seemed to validate these assumptions.
Apologies Extended: Kettan Singh was quick to issue a deep apology as a response to Johar’s strong protests and he expressed his remorse in case of any unintended offends given to honoured Director. Singh professed his admiration for Johar’s skills and clarified that his parodying was aimed only at entertaining the audience.

Support from the Industry: Johar’s friend, Ektaa Kapoor, also stood up alongside him, demonstrating her solidarity by bringing attention to the underlying fact of distasteful jokes in the industry. Kapoor urged us to turn towards more humbling comedy styles, making him the most praised person by Johar.

Looking Ahead: However, that will not stop the man from working on his creative pursuits. After “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani” which was a director, he now wants to dedicate his time to producing new projects including with talented celebrities like Janhvi Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, and Kartik Aaryan. Jobar’s indomitable heart in the face of adversities affirms his never-fading devotion towards the art of filmmaking.
